Fifteen things about me and books

I pushed off the post I was going to write for today because Sarah Glassmeyer posted a link on Twitter to Steve Lawson's Fifteen things about me and books and it looked like fun.

1. I don't really collect books, but my tastes are so odd I feel compelled to keep lots of books for fear of never being able to find certain titles again.

Don't Call them New Year's Resolutions: Personal and Professional Goals for 2010

In December, I was already mulling over some goals for the coming year. Inspired by my colleague Tom Boone and by Chris Guillebeau, I decided to put them together in a concrete way. Not all of these goals have a plan as of yet, but some have dates by which I will have a plan in place.

Hollywood Art Deco Walk

Hollywood Beach Hotel

Last weekend, Liz and I went on the Hollywood Beach Art Deco Walk, run by the Historical Museum of South Florida. The walk is led by Paul George, MDC professor and local historian. The walk covers the historical area of Hollywood Beach, up Surf Road.

Still posting... slowly

I'm not even close to finishing the Taiwan Chronicles and we're preparing to leave. Again. I'm still uploading pictures, but I haven't posted them up here for a while. So, if you want to see photos as they go up, I would suggest looking here. I will eventually post them all up here with more text than what's on flickr. But they'll be there first.

If it's not one thing...

It's been a rough few weeks. Liz's grandmother has been in bad shape since a week or so before Christmas. Liz has been in Virginia since a week after Thanksgiving, first helping out after her mother's stroke, and more recently assisting her grandmother. I've been home trying to get our apartment into decent shape, broken by occasional travel. Liz's grandmother passed away on Monday, and the funeral was today. Now, she has somewhere between 6 days and two weeks to get her apartment cleared out. I will not be able to help much as I have to be back in Florida on Tuesday.
